Haiku Crit

Haiku Crit

Today I received and gave feedback on our mini group brief. The main thing I took on board from it was that our presentation skills were lacking which I can agree on. I reckon next time i'll use the projector screen to get a bit more scope or even just use the original handmade imagery, instead of printing it out A4. Another thing I picked up on was to maybe use the same font throughout the whole work and the same colours so it all looks like it relates back to each other. The key thing that our group lacked I reckon was communication as well which was probably the reason to our downfall. Something that people did like was the depth of the photograph and the shadows on the red background.

One of my favourite pieces of work was the "How to fail successfully' booklet that was created. I found it quite relatable and humorous as well which is what I thought was the best part about it. I don't think there was a single person who couldn't relate to any of the pages. The presentation in physical form was really great and it was well designed and put together. However, I don't think they had to flick through the pages in a video format as the booklet on it's on was really impressive. The video lacked professionalism also which let it down a little.

Another one I really liked was the one wear there were some balloons lined up with the message "I cant handle this". Then the balloons would pop and ink on the instead would splatter all over the wall translating the message perfectly. Obviously the popping of the balloon represented someone literally popping with the amount of pressure that they had. I don't think this one really had any flaws apart from the fact it could maybe have been a bi faster but apart from that it was great.

The final one I enjoyed the most was this one here. The thing I liked the most was the way they presented their work. It was presented like a desk that you'd probably see back at their home and the photos were the highlight. They were like the opposite of what you'd actually see in your room. Usually you'd have positive photos of you're friends and such however these were the total opposite of what you'd want people to see, displaying all the mistakes us students make which is also very relatable just like the others. I have no negative feedback for this one.
